Frequently Asked Questions

What Are Paint Primers Used For?

Primers: Types / Uses - Primer is a paint product that allows finishing paint to adhere much better than if it were used alone. Priming is mandatory if the material is not water resistant and will be exposed to the elements. Priming gypsum board (drywall) is also standard practice with new construction because it seals the wall and aids in preventing mold. Primers can also be used for dirty surfaces that for some reason cannot be cleaned, or before painting light colors over existing dark colors.

How Do I Maintain My New Concrete Coating Properly?

The rule of thumb is: if it will scratch, chip or damage concrete, chances are it may damage the coating surface also. So you must always take caution when setting heavy objects on the coating or dragging heavy items across the coated floor. Periodic washing is all that is typically required to maintain the coating surface. Always make sure to clean any oil or chemical spills immediately to avoid any disruption in the coating and to keep your floor looking new.

Can Concrete Cracks Be Repaired?

Yes. All cracks can be repaired using a high strength epoxy prior to applying any coating. New control joints are placed or existing ones are cut deeper to alleviate the tension and allow for any movement that may occur.
